Chinese Imported Males

Most of my babies are from local fish market though, a couple of young juveniles are imported from overseas.

I found that when I adopted them from their first owners.

This one is smallest one very active and adaptable.

I wonder if they will become melanistic like local ones.

New 3feet Tank

My tank was leaking down on the edges.
I could see soaked floor underneath edges of a side.
I glued with adhesives though, I wasn't sure that it was sealed good.

I felt that I needed new intact tank at least 3ft long as the original one which I've been keeping for years.

I searched internet and found a suitable size of second hand tank for a very good price.

I called my friend who drives a truck to deliver the ordered items to his customers.

He helped me bring this tank to my home.

Now my kids like it a lot.



My Old Male Baby

It's been so long since I snapped a pic of him.
I'm really fond of him. So many memory of him~
He was once fatally ill of eye-closed, however, having been eventually recovered from my day-to-day nursing of injections, skin-care and feeding.

My Kids feed well

Male Reeves Turtles are usually quite melanistic as they age.
They are renowned that their eye became quite prettier with the blackening.
This male seems yet too young to became black-colored.

No sign of melanism yet with comparatively light brown in color for a male.
His plastron looks like having black markings on the yellow.
Usually males have more of very dark shells and skins.
That's why I'm wondering if he's an hybrid with other species.

I wonder if he will become melanistic little by little with age, it's interesting to watch.
